Dale started making custom belt buckles in the early 1980's as gifts for family and friends.  The wooden buckles are designed, cut, and shaped from a variety of domestic and exotic hardwoods.  With unique grain patterns and color variations, Dale utilizes the intrinsic beauty of wood in his buckles.  Some buckles are layered with a variety contrasting colored woods for special effects.  Most, however, are decorated with a hand painted scene or design and are finished with an epoxy resin that is very durable and scratch resistant.  Most of the 400 or more buckles he has made to date have been "custom" orders in a variety of subjects including wildlife, sports, music, hobbies and antique cars.  Dale has also made decorative "tooled and stamped" leather buckles in a variety of design motifs.  Contact Dale if you'd like to order a custom design buckle.
